Classroom Library Cards

A reading log can be a major pain, especially when my students never update them! Some have even gone months without updating it! This year I tried a new idea in my classroom to help my class stay accountable for their reading log. I created my own library card system.  Here is a picture of it:
I bought the envelopes at a teacher store near my town and made these library cards to put in them.

My class LOVES filling out their library card.  This is how it works; every time a student starts a new book or finishes a book they are responsible for updating their “library card.” They have really taken ownership of their card and it helps them stay organized and keep track of all the reading they do.  I love it because I am easily able to see what books they are reading as well as how long they have spent on each book. It literally takes a matter of seconds! Students keep their library card when they are finished with their book project so they can keep track of the number of books they have read. This has really helped my students organize their book list.  Not to mention, it adds to my classroom décor :)

On the bottom of the card it says “I’ve chosen project number:_____” that is referring to the Just Right Book projects I have my students do every time they finish a book. Some can be completed quickly while others are a little more in depth. You can find the reading menu at my TPT store!

  1. I love this idea! Another way to hold them accountable for their independent reading, which is so important. And you're right, it does add to your decor. Going on the list for next year!

  3. Thanks for your comment about our bucket filling board. I love your bulletin board. Great idea and those colors really pop. I hate reading logs, also. However, without doing anything, our AR points have dropped. Thanks for the idea:)

  7. In spite of the fact that poker destinations will guarantee that their product is exceptionally unusual and no individual or program could really break poker, reality remains the RNG isn't and can NOT, by any logical definition, be irregular.

  8. Online casino games allow anyone to play while in their pajamas, while lying in bed, or while watching their favorite cable sports channel. No one can do that in real casinos, no matter how rich or how big a celebrity they are. premium gambling domains

  9. How expensive are cards nowadays? Just to buy a simple pretty card for someone can cost you $3 - $5 and for more elaborate ones I've seen them for $7 - $9 and up. As pretty as they may be that's insane paying that much for a pretty piece of paper haha! custom lanyards to buy
